About the workshop:

This workshop focuses on objects and details to create new images and new imaginaries. It's a cinematographic and photographic investigation of object theatre to expand the imagination of improvised performance. What worlds can emerge from an image in space, and what is our relationship with it? Improvisation generally starts with an empty stage and invisible objects worked with pantomime. In this workshop, we work from the relationship with a concrete image of an object to expand our improvisation into a technical hybridity with film and photography to rethink our scenic improvisation.

About Luana:

Luana Proença is a Brazilian artivist with a PhD in Theater, a Masters in Arts, Specialization in Cultural Management, Bachelor's degree in Acting. She made the Impro Documentary "It was necessary to listen to other voices". She completed the Improv program at The Second City Training Center Hollywood and a few Master Classes from 2016 to 2018. In Europe, she was a member of the Lilimprov and Codfish Waters Impro Groups, as well as The SIN (a European Impro network), and the cast of international shows. She teaches and performs internationally with her theater and improvisation workshops and shows. Published 3 books on Impro. She performed and taught workshops in Brazil, USA, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Austria, Greece, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Vietnam and Australia.

About the festival: The IFO Improfest Bielefeld 2026 will take place for the sixth time from 05.11. - 08.11.2026 with international guests from Brazil, the USA, England, the Netherlands, Austria an all over Germany.
