What happens when the invisible and the real unite to bring our scenes to life?

As improvisers, we create stories out of thin air using nothing more than our bodies and voices—but what happens when a material element comes into play? How can we make these two worlds coexist, not just conceptually, but visually, to create compelling stage work where materials aren't just mere props or decorations? How can we give them the same weight and presence as our voices and bodies, while also building visually striking compositions on stage?

At Improlegos, we started asking ourselves these exact questions because our company was born in a Fine Arts university. This unique background led us to explore elements like paint, paper, cardboard, fabric, wood, and light as theatrical tools to bring improvised stories to life.

In this workshop, we invite you to search for answers to these questions by exploring the use of textile elements to evoke, build, inhabit, and transform our scenes. We hope this hands-on introduction serves as a bridge for you to experiment with other materials, continuing to expand the horizons of your improv!
