About the workshop:

Characters that care (workshop in easy English) This practical and interactive workshop focuses on creating characters who truly care — characters with depth, authenticity, and emotional resonance. Together, we will explore:

• Character motivations and what drives meaningful action.
• Building rich and believable backstories Drawing on your own experiences to inspire compelling stories.
• Respecting and honoring the experiences of others within the narratives you create

Designed by someone who deeply loves both sharing and experiencing storytelling, this workshop offers a supportive space to develop characters that connect, move, and matter.

About Monica:

Monica Gaga is a British-born black African queer host, improviser, facilitator, maker, performer and force of nature. The Comedy Store Players regular is the producer of HELL YEAH!, the femxle-centred queer improv collective. Gaga is a cast member of Do The Right Scene, named ‘theatre that thinks’ by Timeout; feminist duo Derek's Mojo; and that’s just to name a few. Monica is currently based in London.

About the festival: The IFO Improfest Bielefeld 2026 will take place for the sixth time from 05.11. - 08.11.2026 with international guests from Brazil, the USA, England, the Netherlands, Austria an all over Germany.
