Want to learn how to rap but don’t know where to start?

In this 3-hour crash course, you’ll dive straight into the essentials of rap: rhyming, flow, and freestyle, all in a simple, playful, and supportive environment. No experience needed! All you need is a willingness to play, use your voice, and have fun.

This Crash Course is for anyone who wants to sound confident on a microphone and express themselves to a beat in a safe and encouraging way.

You'll be learning by doing. You’ll experiment with attitude, punchlines, rhythm, and storytelling while collaborating with other participants and rocking out to some phat ass beats.

Strap in, come along, and get the tools to create raps on the spot and enter the flow!

You'll learn how to:

• Tell your story to a beat
• Set up and deliver punchlines
• Write a simple rap verse
• Support other rappers with adlibs
• Play with character, emotion, and attitude

Requirements:

• A voice (Yes, you!)
• Curiosity and willingness to play
• Strong level of English
• No musical background needed

What to bring:

• Comfortable clothes
• Water
• Pen and paper

About the instructor: Paul Miller is a musician and improviser who regularly performs on stages across Berlin with Xylophone. He has released two EPs and toured throughout Europe with his rap project Nebulake. He has run rap workshops and directed projects for a range of corporations and organisations for over seven years in Berlin.
